Finding the mirror on the wall was another bit of destiny. “While browsing in an antique store in Palm Beach, we saw this mirror sitting on the floor with furniture all around it,” Wild says. “At the time, we had no idea where to place it, but the mirror truly ‘makes’ the dining area.” French doors open to the library, where cherrywood custom cabinetry encompasses display space and a desk. The striped linen-and-cotton blend on the rolled-arm sofa inspired the room’s palette. Drawn to this quiet retreat, the husband uses the space to work on the computer or listen to music.
