Above: In the bar area, glass-topped
wenge-wood shelves display the owners’ collection
of Baccarat glassware and African masks. A sculpture
by Sorel Etrog, “Knotted Figure,” stands
on the bar, which is also made of wenge with an ash-wood
base. The antique Japanese screen to the left denotes
the sitting area. Colored in khaki and taupe with red
and black accents, the screen inspired the interior’s
palette and Asian sensibility.

When the owners
of this Porto Vita condominium, located in Aventura,
Fla., retained Lorenzo B. Mollicone and Tony Ferchak
to design the interior, they asked the duo to incorporate
many of their treasured furnishings into the layout.
In doing so, the designers had to rethink the use of
each piece to give the home a personality all its own.
