to create an open flow of traffic. Now, the “cityscape” side — encompassing dining and sitting areas — melds with the “ocean” side, which the owners use as their primary living area. Honed Florentine stone flooring further unifies the spaces.

In both of the main living areas, Haim covered one wall with stacked quartzite, providing a unique backdrop for wenge-wood cabinetry and shelves. Typically used for outdoor applications, the quartzite gives the room a textural feel as well as added depth. On the opposite walls, the refined look of understated woven raffia wall covering counterbalances the quartzite’s rugged appearance.
