ABOVE: The master bedroom includes a special meditation room. “It’s just
so reflective of how this home was designed from a unique perspective,” owner
Asheem Sharma says.
Adjoining the kitchen is the living area. Here,
fluorescent orange and lime accent pillows add
tropical punch to the neutral furnishings. Modern artwork enhances the motif. “There’s nothing sterile about this home, yet the feel is still decidedly contemporary,” Miner says.
The designers’ creativity hits a high note in the
dining room, where a vibrant, turquoise-colored, multilayered wash trickles down the walls. “We wanted it to be reminiscent of cascading water,” Nowfel says.
An inlay of shimmering glass mosaic tiles bordered by black marble creates an area rug effect under the table and chairs. Coral silk on the chairs kicks up the palette a notch.
Another testament to the design team’s artistic eye is the visually stunning master bath, where vertical and horizontal windows create a striking geometric composition. Walls wrapped in earth-toned slate give the space a soothing, spa-like feel.

Behind the bath, a frosted-glass panel designed
in the likeness of a Shoji screen affords
privacy when taking a shower. Arched niches
house his and hers vanities on opposite sides of the room. Pin lights draw attention to the niche’s curved lines.
In keeping with the “extraordinary” theme,
the master bedroom exceeds all expectations
with a meditation room located just a few steps up from the bedroom. While the
master bedroom is more subdued with its muted palette and woodpaneled wall, the meditation room comes alive with pink, purple and orange hues.
“It’s an incredible little getaway that, again,
is so unique to the flavor of this house,” Asheem says.
Calling on their imagination and creativity, the builders and designers dreamt up an eye-catching design that, for the Sharmas, is
truly “out of this world.”
