Woven-leather chairs join a sofa and an ottoman designed by Roberts in the
raised conversation area. Identical occasional tables and wall lamps complete the symmetrical
grouping. A mirror reflects the majestic branches of a live oak tree outside.

Identical custom cabinetry also wraps a corner
at the opposite end of the living area. For the seating, Roberts designed oversized chaises and an ottoman with wood bases and cream-colored leather upholstery.
Limestone flooring in the living area steps up to parquet flooring in a separate conversation area. Roberts kept the existing parquet flooring and stained it a darker tone. A luxe, eggplant-colored mohair sofa, an elongated red silk ottoman and woven-leather chairs comprise the seating. On the ottoman, a tray displays amethyst and coral. “I like to use natural objects as accessories,” Roberts says.
From this conversation area, the parquet

flooring travels past the bar and into the dining area. Here, cream-colored leather chairs with dark wood legs surround a dark-stained maple table. On the wall, colorful abstract paintings radiate a palpable energy.
Overlooking the kitchen, “the bar is perfect for casual dining and serving,” Roberts says. Made of mahogany, the bar features a green onyx countertop embedded with fossilized wood pieces. Barstools with geometric-shaped backs sport off-white cowhide seats. “I grew up in Texas, so I have to have a little cowhide somewhere,” Roberts laughs.
