A Contemporary Waterfront Home Masterfully Blends Form And Function

ABOVE: In the dining room, an apple-green wall provides the backdrop for a floating console and a painting by Miami artist George Bethea.

BELOW: Niso Maman’s “Brazilian Coin Female Torso” on a pedestal and Gretchen Minnhaar’s “Needs More People” to its right give the stairway a gallery-like feel.

Designer Michael Brosché’s clients were
anything but wishy-washy about the look
they desired for their new home. The husband,
an investor, and his wife share many passions
— among them modern design. “We definitely
wanted a very contemporary residence with glass, stainless steel, and stark white backgrounds,” says the husband, “but we also

wanted it to be very personal and comfortable.”
While looking for the perfect house, the couple fell in love with a residence designed by architect Tom Benedict and interior designer Michael Brosché. While its design perfectly reflected their tastes, the layout didn’t accommodate their lifestyle needs.
