ABOVE: Asea of tranquility, the master bedroom gives owners Sylvia and Irwin Pastor the feeling of being on a luxury cruise ship. Sylvia Safdie’s
untitled piece hangs above the bedside chest.

In the den, a cocktail table with a woven-leather top contrasts with off-white seating. Oak-stained custom cabinetry displays pottery. “Each niche is individually lit for a gallery-like feel,” Zack says.
Adhering to her less-is-more philosophy, Zack surrounds a haya-wood table with taupe leather Parsons chairs in the dining area. The absence of an area rug allows the honed marble flooring to show.
When designing the master bedroom, Zack
drew inspiration from its breathtaking view. “This room is truly a window to the Gulf,”
she says.

Again, Zack punctuates a neutral palette with
dark woods. A light taupe leather headboard
framed in dark oak and a wenge-wood bench offset the crisp white bed coverings. Near the windows, a taupe-colored chair and ottoman, and an Eileen Gray occasional table form a sitting area.
Showcasing Zack’s minimalist style, this retreat emphasizes what the Pastors love best about the Gulf Coast. “When we look out and see the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico, it truly feels like part of our home,” Sylvia says.
