“THE LIVING ROOM IS A PLACE TO HANG OUT WITH
FRIENDS,” SAYS DESIGNER EDWARD DAVID NIETO.

In the living room, a wenge-wood media cabinet and a plasma TV create a visually arresting focal point. The hand-painted geometric pattern on the wall adds further interest.

A prominent music producer’s chic South Beach pied-à-terre sets a polished stage for entertaining media personalities and friends. “He wanted a very clean design,” says interior designer Edward David Nieto, who created the sleek, contemporary interior. “The apartment had to be open, roomy and able to seat a lot of people.”

Throughout the interior, natural light bounces off the white resin flooring, emphasizing its highgloss sheen. Although he considered marble flooring, “my client flipped when I showed him the resin,” Nieto says. Venetian-plaster walls in shades of white soften the flooring’s shine while adding subtle detail.
