ABOVE: Milk-glass panels contrast with dark mahogany cabinetry in the kitchen. The owners’ vintage Bulova clock — one of their fabulous finds — lends a retro feel.

Like the living and dining areas, linear lines shape the look of the library. Here, mahogany stained custom cabinetry in a staggered-cube configuration spans the length of a wall, while a floating ledge runs the width of an adjacent wall. “The cabinetry’s square structure picks up on the grid pattern in Israel’s painting above the ledge,” Paladino says.

Nearby, Paladino paired a glass-topped game table with the owners’ Arts and Crafts-era chairs by Thonet. In front of the cabinetry, a chair with soft, feminine curves counters the sharp angles of the cubes.
