This year’s Designers’ Show House promised to excite the senses and more than delivered on its word. Leading designers from 12 local and nationally recognized firms showcased their talent, style and creativity in a Mediterranean-style home located in the historic El Cid neighborhood of West Palm Beach. The successful event raised money to benefit the American Red Cross-Greater Palm Beach Area Chapter.

Gold-toned, faux-painted walls provide a textural backdrop for traditional fabrics and furnishings in the living room/study. Designed by Marigil M. Walsh with Joann M. Fullen and Diane Stein, of Astorino in Palm Beach Gardens and Pittsburg, Pa., this eclectic space illustrates how a layered design can make a strong, cohesive statement.

Yellow-toned fabrics from Lee Jofa and Brunschwig & Fils, and walls painted in a brighter version of this hue give the sitting room a sunny disposition. Stephen Mooney, of Richard Plumer Design in West Palm Beach, designed this tranquil space with comfort and relaxation in mind.

Influenced by India, China and Morocco, designer Jennifer Garrigues, of Jennifer Garrigues Interior Designs, Inc. in Palm Beach and New York, transformed the media room/cabana into an exotic hideaway. Plump seating speaks to the room’s laid-back elegance, while accessories from afar enhance the room’s worldly appeal.
