IN A VILLAGE BY THE SEA
A Beachfront Villa Captures The Charm Of
Tuscany And The Casual Comfort Of The Tropics

REMINISCENT OF AN Italian villa, this three-story beachfront home in Vero Beach blends the nuances of old country charm with the casual comfort of Florida living. Located in Village by the Sea, a community of Tuscan-inspired residences, the home reflects the determination of builders Mark and Beth McIntosh to get every facet just right.“

We traveled to Italy and took more than a thousand photos so we could replicate the smallest details,” says Beth, who heads up the design end of the company. She then worked closely with husband Mark to incorporate those architectural elements, such as French and glass double doors, columned archways, balustraded terraces, and expansive windows.

From the second-floor Great Room, sliding-glass doors access the balcony. “When the sliders are open, it feels as though you are outdoors,” Beth says. “Every window in the house has a glorious ocean or courtyard view.”

To create an interior in keeping with the exterior architecture, Beth enlisted designer Jill Shevlin. “I selected modern furniture that captures an Old World feel, but with a contemporary edge,” Shevlin says.
