A cobalt-blue sculpture, “Venus De Milo” by Yves Klein, makes for interesting conversation in the living room. Below left, a Corinthian capital doubles as a pedestal for a bronze statue by Gould, entitled “Bloom.”

Terrazzo transitions to coral-stone flooring in the living room and family area, where the scheme is pure Brown Davis: a clever, sophisticated mix of clean-lined modern commingled with centuries-old antiques, custom-designed pieces — many by Brown and Davis — and bold strokes of color. “Our style is classically influenced, but we like to play with opposites — round and square, textured and sleek, formal and casual,” Brown says.

An unexpected fireside grouping in the living room features a borne placed under an 18th-century Waterford crystal chandelier. The borne, ottoman and chairs are all clad in the home’s signature, textured-beige silk. Against one wall, a chocolate-brown mohair sofa with fuchsia, orange and yellow silk accent pillows pops against the cream-colored scene. Stepping up to the family area, a similar arrangement provides seating.
