HIGH STYLE ON PARK AVENUE
A Timeless Arrangement Of Art, African Artifacts, Art Deco
And French Modern Furnishings Creates Rhythmic Continuity In The Manhattan Apartment Of Music Mogul Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid

In the foyer, modern art by Henri Cartier-Bresson juxtaposes with African artifacts — introducing owner Antonio “L.A.” Reid and wife Erica’s diverse collections. “The Reids are serious lovers of art,” designer Fanny Haim says.

In the home of music mogul Antonio “L.A.” Reid, a mélange of furnishings harmoniously blends classic and modern elements with Art Deco, French and African accents. The hit-making producer, songwriter and co-founder of LaFace Records, has worked with an array of star performers including Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Pink. As former CEO of Arista Records and now Chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group, Reid has influenced careers spanning a range of musical genres.

L.A. and his wife, Erica, bring this variety and versatility to their Park Avenue apartment. After designing their house in South Florida, Fanny Haim was entrusted to renovate the Reids’ five-bedroom apartment on New York’s Upper East Side, combining their eclectic aesthetic with day-to-day functionality. “Once we defined the spirit of the place and the agenda,” Haim says, “everything quickly fell into place.”
