An Art Deco buffet, a contemporary, ebonized-wood Loren Marsh table and Dakota Jackson chairs fashion the dining room.

To create a melodic fusion of styles, Haim selected specific Art Deco pieces from the Reids’ personal collection and incorporated French Modernist items along with compatible contemporary pieces. “Making the Art Deco pieces a focal point was the genesis of the design concept,” Haim says.

Upon entering the foyer, an illuminated assemblage of artifacts, vintage photography and paintings provides an engaging glimpse of what lies beyond. In the center of the space, African water vessels top a striking, geometric Art Deco table made of palissandre wood and goatskin. On one wall hangs a black-and-white photograph by Henri Cartier-Bresson — one of several by the eminent French photojournalist on view in the home.
