IN THIS ISSUE
South Florida is a top vacation destination for travelers throughout the world. And with sunny days by the beach and exciting nightlife, it’s no wonder why many visitors have made this premier location a permanent spot with homes designed to enjoy maximum relaxation.
Displayed on our cover is an impressive Coral Gables retreat that interior designer Vincenzo Avanzato created for one family’s 13,000-square-foot seasonal home. With plenty of cozy conversation groupings perfect for large-scale entertaining, Vincenzo highlighted the owners’ love of travel in a bright and airy space. Tropical breezes flow through palm-shaded beds that rest on a bayfront beach ideal for private relaxation that is reminiscent of an exotic getaway.
Across the way, interior designer Carola Hinojosa fashioned quite a different scheme that bespeaks the home’s cityscape environment. Taking a break from their more northern residences, the owners can now enjoy their 2,139-square-foot sanctuary on the 55th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Miami with floor-to-ceiling panoramic views of the city and the surrounding Biscayne Bay. Hinojosa’s simplistic design of natural elements and warm hues of brown, orange and red contrast dark features with the condominium’s light exterior.
Over on the Gulf Coast, interior designer Jerilyn Antonacci shaped a bayfront getaway in Bonita Springs. Just over 10,000 square feet, this luxurious two-story penthouse is designed for entertaining with its media room, billiard room and a grand terrace that boasts breathtaking Gulf views. Antonacci created a fun yet elegant scheme using colors and textures with an Asian flair.
Whether contemplating a vacation retreat in South Florida or elsewhere, look to the designs in this issue for ideas for your own haven away from home.
