Florida Becomes a Trendsetter in Outdoor Furnishings

Florida’s year-round subtropical climate makes it a leader in outdoor style and a magnet for outdoor furnishing companies the world over.
With thousands of miles of beaches and beautiful warm weather, it seems only natural that the focus of luxury living would extend to the outdoors. High-end designers and manufacturers are embracing the demand for outdoor furnishings, producing fresh ideas for outdoor living. In this issue of Florida Design, we feature the latest in these trends.
We’ve profiled Miami Dolphins Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino’s pool house, with

architecture by William Taylor and interior design by Phyllis Taylor. It features a waterfall Jacuzzi spa, volleyball court and putting green. They put just as much attention to detail into the exterior as they did the interior.
In addition, this issue includes the finest in furniture that resists the elements — high-style hammocks, teak chairs, and Mirotex fiber sofas and tables that join to form living areas outside the home.
We are also happy to report that our circulation has increased approximately 30 percent in Florida from a year ago — a testament to our commitment to bring Florida Design to more and more readers.
