The sun room has the tallest expanse of glass in the home and opens to an Ipe wood deck and lush greenery. The minimalist design features a Le Corbusier sofa, a keystone fireplace and Seattle artist Greg Owen’s glass sculptures.

 
 

Sarasota-based architect Carl Abbott designs award-winning houses that are monumental achievements of bold, asymmetrical geometry whose designs often respond to irregularly shaped waterfront sites.

And this 5,900-square-foot home nestled between gulf waters and an island lagoon off of Florida’s coast is no exception. “We appreciate the integrity, sophistication and minimalist detailing of Carl’s work,” the homeowner says, “and we also love the excitement of surrounding ourselves with bold colors.”
