IN THIS ISSUE

In addition to showcasing the fabulous properties of Florida, this issue we also travel outside the southern tip and break away to three far-off destinations to seek some of the best residences out of our home state.

North of us is our cover story, where interior designer Jamie Drake created a fun and colorful space for his own home in New York City. Incorporating splashes of pink, yellow and turquoise hues, Drake turned his 2,800-square-foot apartment in the Flatiron District into a light-filled, whimsical retreat mixing bold art, vintage pieces and contemporary furnishings with a variety of colors that prompt one from room to room.

Also in New York City, but overlooking the beautiful views of Central Park, designers William R. Eubanks and David Mitchell Brown fashioned a classically elegant home for one New York resident. As antique experts, Eubanks and Brown incorporated centuries-old pieces with updated classics into the 3,000-square-foot apartment while opening up the spaces to let in the surrounding scenery.

Moving to warmer climates, designer Adriana Hoyos shaped a contemporary dwelling with an Asian influence for one family in Quito, Ecuador. Using natural materials and neutral hues, Hoyos combined her own line of furnishings with custom pieces into this 6,000-square foot, three-story penthouse, integrating seike wood throughout to warm up the home. Striking views of the mountainous landscape can be seen throughout through a multitude of windows that fill the residence with light.

From Florida to New York to South America, Florida Design travels the continent finding the best homes across the world and in our own backyard.
