Despite a challenging economy, there’s been a statewide 24-percent increase in home sales this fall from the previous year according to the Florida Association of Realtors. This is because home prices have fallen significantly, creating great buying opportunities for people around the world looking to move to Florida.

In addition, Florida is brimming with events and activities bringing the world’s most affluent people to our art and boat shows, and perfect winter weather.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, at which Florida Design had a prominent booth, lured hundreds of thousands of people looking to purchase yachts.

On the first day of the boat show, we noticed the international elite coming to town with their bodyguards to preview yachts 100 feet to over 200 feet. The yacht brokers were telling us that although the smaller boats are in decline, there is still a huge demand for yachts over 100 feet.
Further, we are hosting many of the world’s biggest art shows including Art Basel Miami Beach and the American International Fine Art Fair, once again bringing large numbers of the international jet-set crowd to our state.

In this economic climate, it’s great to see that Florida’s warm weather and tremendous cultural events continue to attract the global elite.
