IN THIS ISSUE

Although this issue is our 20th anniversary, and we do spend a lot of time reminiscing on the best of the best designs over the past years, we also include a few new, exciting homes, each one with its own distinct style.

Developer Frank McKinney, along with wife and designer Nilsa McKinney, created a magnificent, 15,000-square-foot Manalapan manse that is organic by design. Incorporating water features, such as plunge pools, waterfalls and fountains, lush landscaping, and an assortment of environmentally sound, natural materials, from bamboo ceilings, to Koa wood cabinetry, to reclaimed teak flooring, the duo fashioned a tropical paradise that falls between the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway.

Architect Sol Fleischman, along with interior designer Kristin Petruccelli, developed a fresh take on Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic style for a 5,560-square-foot home in Tampa. With a complete renovation, Wright’s Prairie style mixes with touches of Craftsman, California rustic and contemporary to feature beamed ceilings, deep overhangs and clerestory windows. Stacked-stone columns run inside and out, while comfortable furnishings in a neutral palette allow the owners’ extensive art collection to shine.

Interior designer Sean Rush was inspired by the owner’s Moroccan roots for a Spanish Mediterranean-style estate set in Palm Beach. Using fiery tones, stenciled and hand-painted wall treatments, colorful tiles, and lanterns and floor cushions bought at markets in Fez and Marrakech, the home appears as a royal palace.

We hope you enjoy this issue, which features the top designs of the past and today’s latest styles, and look forward to continue to bring the finest in design. u Barbara Lichtenstein
