Some homes are just made for entertaining, and the following ones are designed to celebrate parties both large and small.

Meticulous detailing defines the cover’s 20,000-square-foot estate in Palm Beach, Fla., where designer Susan Gale devised a timeless yet welcoming theme, mixing comfortable, custom furnishings and ornate details against a stately architecture. To make the home conducive for the lifestyle of the owner, a well-known philanthropist who often hosts large charity events, Gale formed a great room that combines a library, media center, music room, billiard table and cigar club in one, as well as a spacious loggia that allows for larger fêtes.

Boca-based interior designer Susan Lachance created a warm, indoor/outdoor harmony for one nearly 10,000-square-foot vacation getaway in Boca Raton, Fla., that works well for the owners’ love of casual entertaining. With an open floor plan and floor-to-ceiling glass walls, rooms seem to unfold onto each other, offering ample seating for large and small gatherings. A two-story guesthouse allows for the ease of overnight visitors.

On a little bit of a smaller scale, interior designer Jennifer Corredor fashioned an explosion of color in a 2,900-square-foot condominium in Aventura, Fla., answering the owner’s request for a lively club atmosphere that he could share with friends. Incorporating modern-style furnishings, funky wall coverings and unique accents, Corredor created a stylish yet out-of-the-box design that is consistent with the easygoing nature of the homeowner.

And so, whether you desire a residence that caters to large parties or prefer to host a smaller crowd, these homes prove that a house built for entertaining can be a lot of fun.
