The design of a home isn't always just about the interiors. In most cases, it is more about the house as a whole — a collaborative effort between designer, builder and architect. And the following stories prove that the outcome of such teamwork can be stunning. On the cover, the design team of architect Randall Stofft, interior designer Beril Yurdakul, builder Paul Courchene and landscape architect Koby Kirwin joined forces to create the look of a 7,600-square-foot home set in the Old Palm Golf Club of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The result is an Asian contemporary style that pairs clean lines and dramatic accents with a natural aesthetic that forms a harmony between inside and out. A collaboration of visionary clients and top design talent was the case for a 20,000-square-foot residence in Boca Raton, Fla., where interior designer Louis Shuster, builder Steve Paskoski, architects Robert Jay Colestock and Mark Allen Muir, and landscape architect Krent Wieland fashioned a waterfront home that balances Mediterranean style with an organic palette. Neutral tones, natural textures and detailed architectural elements are at once elegant and comfortable. Teaming up with architect Krsto Stamatovski, builder Scott Godoy and landscape architect Thomas Pascuzzo, interior designers Susan Connor, Julie Harris and Marisa Courson shaped a modern interpretation of an Italianate villa. This sprawling estate located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., combines classic architecture with livable materials for a relaxed home that works well for its owners and their many guests. In the end, these homes demonstrate that a collaboration of great minds can truly turn a house into a masterpiece.
