ABOVE: In the bar area, glass-topped
wenge-wood shelves display the owners’ collection
of Baccarat glassware and African masks. A sculpture
by Sorel Etrog, “Knotted Figure,” stands
on the bar, which is also made of wenge with an ash-wood
base. The antique Japanese screen to the left denotes
the sitting area. Colored in khaki and taupe with
red and black accents, the screen inspired the interior’s
palette and Asian sensibility.
