The interior revolves around a Great Room, encompassing
living, sitting and dining areas, and a kitchen and
media area. Drawing on the relaxed pace of the beach
and the Aragons striking exterior, the designers
took a comfortable yet sophisticated approach to the
design.
Beveled, floor-to-ceiling mirrors visually widen the
dining area, which features one of Jims creations
an oversized table made of cherry- and maple-wood
veneers. Cherry-wood chairs feature terra-cotta-colored
chenille fronts, multicolored tapestry backs and muted-green
seats. This mix of materials gives a simple
chair a little sophistication, Jim says. They
are designed for durability and simplicity, and can
be transported anywhere around the house for extra
seating.

A painter and sculptor, Jim created several works
of art on display throughout the home. Gracing the main
living area of the Great Room is a trio of sculptures,
and adorning the sitting area are several paintings.
In the main living area, a sunburst area rug pays tribute
to the rooms natural source of light. Throughout
the space, groupings of understated, modern furnishings
in neutral tones provide stylish comfort and allow the
breathtaking views to prevail. A streamlined, white
leather sofa and butterscotch-colored, leather lounge
chairs comprise the primary conversation grouping. Two
cocktail tables, one of zebra wood, the other of anigre
wood, and an oversized ottoman can be moved about when
entertaining. A tripod floor lamp strikes a pose in
one corner of the room. |
