easured in miles, the distance between New York City and Naples, Fla., is
more than a thousand. But in terms of style and sophistication, the urbane designs of Manhattan transfer easily to
Florida's Gulf Coast. When the elevator opens to this penthouse in Le Provence, which overlooks the water, one might as
well be entering a Park Avenue apartment.
Designers Edward Daoust and
Heather Fowler combined two penthouses into one for the owners, who planned to use the condominium, which overlooks the
Gulf of Mexico, for weekend getaways and entertaining guests. "The couple wanted something highly styled," Daoust
says.
Adds Fowler, "They wanted it
to have the sleek look of a New York penthouse, yet with a transitional mix of contemporary and traditional
furnishings."
