wo homes in the exclusive Estates of the King & Bear
at World Golf Village in St. Augustine showcased the talents of 35 northeast area designers at the 2002 SunTrust
Symphony/ASID Showhouse XXVII. The Castlebrook, an English countryside estate built by The Vintage Group, Inc., and the
Valencia, a Mediterranean villa built by North Florida Builders, presented very different settings for the designers to
bring their creative visions to life. Begun in 1972, the annual showhouse event has raised more than $3 million for the
Jacksonville Symphony Association.

wenty five ASID designers reinvented the interior of
this 1920s Sarasota bayfront estate for the "Jewels on the Bay" 2002 ASID Designer Showhouse. Originally built by a
partner of business tycoon John Ringling, the home has maintained its historic charm throughout the years. Profits
raised help support The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee and Sarasota counties, and scholarships at Ringling School of
Art & Design and the University of South Florida.
