Living Room
Identical furniture groupings in the living area imbue the space with a sense of symmetry, while a mirror outlined in cobalt blue ceramic tiles enhances the room's spaciousness. The L-shaped contemporary seating from Italy comprises a sofa and a chaise. Henri Matisse-like prints on the walls underscore the modernist theme.

"Every element in the house is a mirror image in some way," Cohen says. "The owners really love modern, minimalist style, and they wanted to create a sense of balance so the view would be the focal point."

The living area is virtually naked of art, allowing the beauty of the environment to bring in color and interest as the ultimate canvas. At one end, a mirror visually enlarges the feel of the space.

Beyond the living area, a dining area replaces what once had been a billiard room. The table, consisting of a chrome base with a floating glass tabletop, accommodates eight guests. But with the flick of a switch, the glass parts in the middle and a black granite panel springs up to create a tabletop for 12 or more. Black leather chairs surround the table, while a contemporary Italian chandelier dramatically hovers above. continued...
