Bernal, who refers to himself as a “world traveler,” looked to the principles of feng shui — such as management of color and space, location of artwork, and the use of woods — when designing the interior. The powerful use of color is evident in the living area, where a floating wall painted a brilliant coral hue separates the space from the master bedroom. .

“The bright-colored wall activates energy and balance in the room,” he says.
Across from it rests a terra-cotta-colored leather lounge chair that takes its cues from the tone of the wall. Made of wood and stainless steel, the glass-topped cocktail table has an industrial look that complements the interior’s contemporary scheme.
