forms the backdrop for the game area of the
library. In the sunroom beyond, an Indian jali placed
on an
iron base becomes a cocktail table.

A mix of natural materials comes together in the loggia,
such as the wicker sofa and lounge chairs, honey fruitwood
cocktail table, and woven-raffia wall covering.
The library, on the
other hand, provides a cool oasis from the bright
Florida sun. In this warm space, family and friends
can relax on the Thai silk sofa or converse at the
game table. The surrounding cabinetry was reconfigured
to accommodate the owner’s extensive collection
of books. Underfoot, a wool area rug follows the
L-shape of the room.
The interior’s sunny aura
extends to the patio and pool area and outdoor garden
terrace. Here, a teak table and chairs afford alfresco
dining amid a tropical garden of lush palms, ferns
and bromeliads.
