made into a cabinet for the family
room. Craftsmen brewed tea and
used it to stain the new wood so it
would blend with the color of the
panels. The doors slide open to
reveal media equipment.
In the family room,
upholstered seating mixes with more antiques. While
she was at the salvage yard, Wild stumbled across
five carved-wood panels that she thought might have
potential. “For three months the panels leaned
against the wall,” the wife remembers. “One
day, the painters moved them, and we immediately
said, ‘Wow! They would make a fantastic cabinet
to house media equipment.’ ”
