One of the owner’s favorite works of art from his collection hangs above the sofa — an original oil by Richard Pousette-Dart. The striking black-and-white pattern of the painting pops against the sea of neutrals in the living area.
The living area flows into the inviting dining area. Here, a floating mahogany buffet with stainless-steel accents and a granite top makes

a strong statement against the mirrored wall. The diamond pattern of the buttercream-colored fabric on the hostess chair takes its cues from the quilted, pale ocean-blue velvet on the armless side chairs. Etched- and frosted-glass squares and trim punctuate the clear-glass tabletop, offering a visual point of interest. A polished stainless-steel and brass sconce and recessed lighting illuminate the room with a “dinner party” glow.
