In the formal dining room, rose-tinted walls warmly contrast with mahogany Chippendale-style chairs and a table that can accommodate a party of 12. A glowing crystal chandelier and soft candlelight impart the mood of intimate dining.
The foyer, however, conveys a true sense of the home’s imposing size. Two sets of stairways soar upward, leading the eye toward a 32-foot-high ceiling. The symmetry of the wood railings and white balusters sculpts the foyer with dramatic precision.

“Originally, the house had metal railings and balusters,” Ken says. “We took them all out and replaced them with wood.”
In contrast to the foyer’s voluminous ceiling, the living room’s coffered ceiling creates a more intimate mood. “We designed all the ceilings to give the rooms depth and dimension,” Lichi says.
