A Sun-Kissed, Old World Design Reflects
The Island’s Tradition Of Barefoot Elegance
 
When a northern couple purchased this twostory retreat in Boca Raton, Fla., they wanted its design to carry the same weight as
their permanent residence. To do so, the couple incorporated some of the most important works of art from their collection — adding prominence to the design as well as an air of familiarity.

In addition, they decided to redesign the entire
home instead of redoing the kitchen, which had been the original plan. Designer Anne Ruben, who spearheaded the renovation, opened everything up “so that when you walk in the front door you can see right through the house,” she says.
