of Windermere.
One of six homes showcased in the 2003 Orlando Street of Dreams, Coo Coo Ka Choo — as it’s affectionately called — offers a different perspective on traditional Florida motifs.
Architect Daniel F. DeLong conceived the home’s whimsical name after more than a few cups of coffee. “I wanted to see how different we could be,” DeLong says. “We were
burnt out on ‘villa’ this and ‘casa’ that, and

wanted something fun and memorable
that truly reflects the home’s unique character.” After kicking around songs from the 1970s, Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson” — the theme song of “The Graduate” — came to mind. And the name Coo Coo Ka Choo was born.
Positioned around an inviting pool, the courtyard-style estate features eye-catching colors, decorative finishes and innovative
concepts that capture the imagination. “This home is filled with elements you don’t normally see in Florida,” says designer Dan Miner, who teamed with Ron Nowfel on the interior scheme
