In the den, Christian Liaigre’s occasional table rests next to the lounge chair.
“I love the simplicity of the block of raw wood. The natural splits give it such personality,” designer Toby Zack says.

Having owned a seasonal home in Boca
Raton for several years, Sylvia and Irwin
Pastor were ready for a change. So, the
Buffalo, N.Y., couple set out to find the perfect waterfront retreat. They began by researching luxury condominiums in and around the local area, finding a model designed by Toby Zack that they absolutely loved. Continuing their search, they then headed to the Gulf Coast, where they discovered
L’Ambiance, a waterfront condominium on
Longboat Key. Although the setting was ideal, the apartment needed a complete renovation.

Torn between the Zack-designed model on the
Atlantic Coast and the apartment on Longboat Key, the couple weighed their options. “At first, we thought it was the South Florida location that we liked best,” Sylvia recalls. “But the more we thought about it, we realized it was the design that we loved.”
