ABOVE: The design concept for the column between the living and dining areas “came from a photograph of a restaurant the clients gave us,” says architect Mitchell O’Neil, who twisted the shape to make it more 3-D.

Completing a renovation project is, like many of life’s endeavors, a result of hard work, good timing and reliable resources. For the owners of this oceanfront condominium in North Palm Beach, the ingredient for success was selecting the perfect design team to accomplish the task.
The couple, who maintain a primary residence in Rhode Island and a seasonal home in Cape Cod, Mass., purchased the condominium about 10 years ago and used it only two to three weeks out of the year. Recently, the couple decided they wanted to

spend more time in Florida — a decision that prompted the complete renovation of their retreat.
“We were drawn to the place because of the ocean view, but the original floor plan did nothing to show it off,” the wife says candidly. Originally built in the late 1960s, the building featured units with traditional layouts and walled-in spaces.
