Magazines have a tendency to come and go, but Florida Design has dem-onstrated its staying power over the past 15 years as “the magazine for fine in-terior design and furnishings.” Since 1990, we’ve been following the state’s ever-evolving design industry, showing readers around the world that the Sunshine State is indeed fertile ground for creative designers and architects.

Since good design is timeless, we decided to take a look back at the variety of interior styles featured on our pages. The ones that popped up time and again as Florida favorites form the basis of our special 15th an-ni-versary section: “15 Styles, 15 Years,” which begins on page 268.

From traditional to contemporary designs — and everything in be-tween — this 46-page editorial defines the homes and the lifestyles of those who live and play here.

“Diverse” aptly describes the talents of London-based de-signer Kelly Hoppen whose trademark style fuses Eastern and Western influences. In addition to designing interiors, Hoppen has expanded into furniture, accessories and much more. With projects around the world, Hoppen now brings her retail concept to Florida, where she has opened an in-store boutique at Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables.

Also inside this issue you’ll find lighting designer Merrie Shinder’s beaded and bejeweled creations, an exhibit of Tiffany art glass at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park, Fla., and an exhibition of new works by internationally acclaimed artist Robert Rauschenberg at the Miami Art Museum.
