Working on a monumental scale requires to rethinking balance and space: as proportions expand, technical complexity increases to maintain the dialogue between form, material, and function. In response to this challenge, Cattelan Italia introduces the new Senator Keramik Magnum table, expanding the Senator family with a new version that reaches up to 6 meters (nearly 20 feet) in length.
Designed by Paolo Cattelan, Senator Keramik Magnum is conceived for majestic residential interiors as well as contract and hospitality projects, where the table becomes an integral component of the space’s architecture.
Its stretched, intentionally asymmetrical elliptical silhouette flows with the extension of the top, transforming it into a vast tactile canvas. The natural veining and subtle gradations of the irregular ceramic slabs join effortlessly, punctuated by a solid wood insert that introduces a refined interlude across the top’s distinct sections.
Supporting this impressive surface is the iconic Senator base. In the six-meter version, the leg module is repeated five times and rotated, creating a rhythmic sequence of sculpted volumes, solids, and voids.
For Cattelan Italia, this new size opens up fresh avenues of research, enabling the creation of designs that engage directly with architecture.
Navigating unconventional dimensions and configurations broadens the company’s creative horizon, allowing for bespoke solutions tailored to the precise demands of each project. Scale, proportion, material, finish, and layout become dynamic variables adapted to the surrounding context: an approach that harmonizes the product with the spatial environment it inhabits.
This ability to translate technical parameters and design specifications into tangible solutions makes custom craftsmanship an essential pillar of Cattelan Italia‘s methodology. The brand collaborates closely with architects and designers to conceive products engineered to suit the unique needs of each project, from private residences to contract and hospitality venues.
This philosophy is deeply rooted in the Made in Italy tradition and the culture of craftsmanship that defines the company’s DNA. Today, deep material expertise and manufacturing excellence are paired with an ambition to tackle increasingly complex technical challenges.
The monumental scale of the Senator Keramik Magnum showcases Cattelan Italia’s capacity to redefine the table’s role within a space: shifting it from a mere piece of furniture to an architectural presence that shapes new spatial relationships.
